Ah. MDWAV #31 and #32. Can't believe I slept half an hour later than usual for #32 and that very episode had only 10min of joey and eric. Lolx. #32 mainly about Ma DaLong and his lover Jinbao. -_-"
It was very touching, but they just looked weird together. As in, well..
Anyway, that episode explained the origin of the song "Chong Sheng". Something like a 2nd life. Liked that song when listening to the soundtrack. Now that I know the meaning behind it, the "touching" factor is just so very much the amplified. ^_^
Anyway, one impt learning point in that 2 episode. --> Perseverance.
1st, just a summary for those interested to know. A man who is supposedly dead, hangs on to his belief and survives. Even when the hell guards receive him, he perseveres and never gives up. All because he wants to have a family gathering. A proper one. The only one in his whole lifetime.
Back then when he was with a woman he loved dearly.. She was on the verge of death, but he refuse to give her up. He played that song he had composed for her on the electric guitar ( a gift from her ). Booming loud. Till the sound penetrated hell. Lord Dizang was touched and decides to break the rules and revive her for a year.
"Believe and you succeed. Don't believe and fail."
And now for the in-depth version for my own reference in the future. ^_^ Read on if got patience, cause there's a deep meaning to it..
Ma Da Long. He had not slept for 20 years. All because he wanted to protect his son, Ma Xiao Hu. He was supposed to be dead, but he hung on, for that long period of time.. Why..??
it all began.. Ma Da Long had a crush on his childhood friend, Jinbao, but he never once had the courage to admit it openly to her. So many times, he had seen her gone into relationships, fall out of it, went into another one and so on.. Without plucking up that little bit of courage to biao bai, he protected her silently. Stood by her and comforted her with his songs..
The last guy Jinbao had a crush on, was actually the king of human, ren2 wang2 fuxi. He did not accept her, but reminded her that her happiness was near. Just beside her, yet unseen and unknown to her..
Actually Ma Da Long was a man who lack self-confidence. He never once believed he could achieve something, big or small, in life. Leading a life of a "useless man", he din even have a job. All he knew was that he had to finish his song specially written for Jinbao.. He always tot he was not meant for Jinbao. She was far too high up for him. Never even dared to reach out to her. Just wanna remain by her side forever..
Jinbao, on the other hand, treasured this "friendship" alot ( there's gonna be a twist later on.. ). She had always "invited" Da Long to be hidden in a corner whenever she admits to a guy that she liked him. Always, she would be sad. And always, Da Long will be ready with his guitar to cheer her on. And always, his arms will be ready for her to bite. Yes, to vent her anger and devastation on..
In a singing competition, Da Long was disqualified even though he had just played a few notes. Jin Bao was so angry, she scolded the judge, tripped them over, and pulled Da Long away..
"You could have just played on. Who cares what the judges said? Believe in yourself. i have always loved your music. You have the talent." Jin Bao encourages.. In addition, she tells Da Long to go to the Church they've always been too and look for his reward underneath the 3rd row of the chairs. With that, she added that she's going to look for Fuxi, to try her luck again. because she believes she can, and so she will succeed..
Dalong went to the church. he searches for his reward. He finds none. He becomes solemn again. He did not believe he could do it..
Fuxi had shifted house. Jin Bao was very sad. However, being strong and firm to her belief, she picked herself up once again and believed one day, she will find him. At this point, she rmbs her date with Da Long in the Church. She makes a rush. Too much of a rush. She got knocked down by a car..
Dalong waited in the church.. And waited..
Jin Bao was on the verge of death. She's about to drink the Mengpo soup and get reincarnated..
Da Long refuses to give up. He goes back to the church and is determined to search for his reward. Believe you can, and you wil succeed..
Finally, he searched beyong the 3rd row and he saw his gift. An electric guitar. A note: "Dalong, you have always lacked confidence.. Actually, all you needed was self-belief. Never give up. But if you are able to see your reward, it means you have understood those words and found back yourself. You have persevered and looked beyond e 3rd row.."
Suddenly, the strong sounds of Dalong's guitar ( his reward ) penetrates thru Hell, awaking Jin Bao and touching Lord Dizang.. Finally, Jin bao's words sunk into DaLong's head and he's doing something with zeal and determination. He will not let her die, and therefore, she will not die..
Indeed, she didn't. Lord Dizang came to the world and revived her for a year. In her place, he had to be tortured for a year.. "I have never ever seen such love in the world, though i've always been searching for it. Ok, i will give you another chance.. "
But.. Da Long was disappointing. he asked Jin Bao, "You have only one year to live. Maybe you shld find Fuxi and spend every moment with him.. "
Jin Bao was heart-broken. "Fine" and she walked away. She turns back " I tot i could spend every moment with you from the very moment you saved me back.. " Dalong was stunned..
He rushes up.. "will you.." He hesitated.
Disappointed, Jin bao walked off.
"Wil you marry me?" was the sentence that came out of DaLong's mouth.
Jinbao stopped. She felt sweetness in her heart. ^_^ She had always waited for this moment. She had been into relationships and fallen out of it.. In all these processes, all she wished for were those very words. She had waited.. and waited.. She had always loved Dalong. Remembering Fuxi's words, she had always known that her happiness was near her, however, he is always lagging behind.. She is always waiting for his courage.. To say those words..
They lived happily. Jinbao got pregnant. She gave birth to a girl and a boy. The girl was fine. Not the boy and herself though. Actually her time was up, the hell guard was about to bring her away. just 5 minutes left. Da Long strummed his guitar fiercely.. He wanted another miracle to occur. It did not..
Dizang appeared again. "e 2 of you have lived beyond your time. The child was not even supp to be born. Thus, the boy had no soul. The girl will shoulder the burden of the Ma family. Thus, she will survive and someone will take care of her eventually." The girl is Ma Xiao Ling. The boy was haunted by the unlucky ghost. "I have special arrangements for JinBao".
Thus, Dalong remained awake for then onwards, to protect XiaoHu from the unlucky ghost. he has not caught a wink since then..
Now, he's going to be dead soon, after receiving a blow from Yaochi.. But he still hung on.. For he wanted a proper family reunion with Ma Xiaoling and Ma Xiaohu, and unexpectedly Kauang TianYa..
That's the power of perseverance. And even more of love. For it has transformed someone who lack self-confidence to someone with that much determination..
